Department of Electrical Engineering was started in the Year 2001 with B.E. (Electrical) Program having intake of 60. Later on, in the Year 2012, M.E. (Electrical) Program was started with specialization in Power Electronics & Electrical Drives.

To provide a platform for overall development of its stakeholders and inculcate qualities required to master the “art of technology” in Electrical Engineering.
Mission
To impart quality education through curricular and advanced knowledge, developing interpersonal skills, motivating and applying simulation techniques. Also, the department will encourage the staff to improve quality & research work, upgrade and create new laboratories to produce quality engineers, researchers & entrepreneurs committed for rendering the best service to the nation

Graduates of the program are expected to demonstrate:
- An ability to apply knowledge of electrical engineering.
- An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability with human value.
- An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
- An ability to identify, formulates, and solves engineering problems.
- An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
- The financial health of a country is to a large extent dependent on the consumption & affordability of Power. Power is the main soul of industrial growth which is directly contributing to the country’s GDP.
- According to above scenario, the future of electrical engineer is promising. Jobs openings in Government & Private organization for power sector are very huge.

- Standard 12th Pass with Science Stream. Diploma completed in the same branch is eligible for taking admission in 2nd year (3rd SEM) directly.
